Sissy ain’t a bad girl; She’s just suff’rin’ from the summer heat! Summer heat! Sissy always plays a lot, and she will show you what she’s got Especially in the summer heat. Bikini body on the beach; you’ll see her teasing out of reach Especially in the summer heat. Sissy ain’t a bad girl She’s survivin’ in a man’s world Using just the tools she knows Her hair, her shoes, her skimpy clothes Sissy’s learning what to do on the beach as well as school Another kind of summer heat Teachers, students, even Dad, indoctrinate what’s good and bad And put the blame on summer heat Sissy ain’t a bad girl. She’s learning it’s a man’s world And in her dorm room late at night If anyone could hear her cry They’d hear her asking, "Who am I?" Sissy’s learning what to do on the beach as well as school Another kind of summer heat Teachers, students, even Dad, indoctrinate what’s good and bad And put the blame on summer heat Sissy ain’t a bad girl She’s survivin’ in a man’s world Using just the tools she knows Her hair, her shoes, her skimpy clothes Sissy always plays a lot, and she will show you what she’s got Especially in the summer heat. Bikini body on the beach; you’ll see her teasing out of reach Especially in the summer heat. Especially in the summer heat. Sissy ain’t a bad girl; She’s just suff’rin’ from the summer heat! Your days keep rolling on; You feel the spark is almost gone But don't worry, The good days never end You're feeling a little scared. Go outside and breathe the air And don't worry, The good days never end It's not like it was before. In fact, it’s so much more It's time to go out again And see the things from way back when. When you find the sun has gone; Just light a candle and play along But don't worry, The good days never end It's not like it was before. In fact it’s so much more It's time to go out again And see the things from way back when. Your days keep rolling on; You feel the spark is almost gone But don't worry, The good days never end Copyright 2018 Jeff Robinson

Honey Pie, I moan and sigh, I lie awake all night In my head I’m filled with dread, I weep. Torn apart; I’ve pawned my heart, the ticket’s yours to keep Will I ever, ever get to sleep Where do you go, my Romeo? I cry for you all day. I believe you’re avoiding me, Oh, why do you treat me this way? Where do you go, my Romeo? I cry for you all day. I believe you’re avoiding me, Oh, why do you treat me this way? In my dreams you come to me; your arms are open wide. When you close them I am safe inside. Then reality assails me in the morning light. I prefer the fantasy of the night. Where do you go, my Romeo? I cry for you all day. I believe you’re avoiding me, Oh, why do you treat me this way? Where do you go, my Romeo? I cry for you all day. I believe you’re avoiding me, I see you turning away. You’re always turning away. Why are you turning away? Copyright 2020 Vicki Morrison Goble

My Blue Day 02:27
It seems like ev’rywhere I turn something new is going wrong. If I could only get online, I’d share my feelings in a song. I’d sing about the way one trouble piles atop another, And how I need a refuge from it all. t’s a blue day Relentless troubles fill my blue day I am battered by my blue day Ev’rything’s been going wrong. I am burdened by a load of expectations I can’t meet. Are they real or is my ego fooling me about what they really need Sometimes I wonder what would happen if I took care of myself Instead of always trying to fix ev’rybody else. Would I still have blue days? Would troubles still fill my blue days? Would I still be battered by my blue days? Would ev’rything still be going wrong? Cuz it’s a blue day Relentless troubles fill my blue day I am battered by my blue day Ev’rything’s been going wrong. Ev’rything’s been going wrong. Ev’rything’s been going wrong. I am traveling through time and space, leaving my empty past behind Trying to remember it's not a race, looking for an encouraging sign Have I found my destination? Will I ever really know? I was broken and now I'm mending. I can let my honesty show. CHORUS I don't mind if you walk with me I kinda like the company We were never meant to be alone We're messy together cuz we're not made of stone I’m so tired of being lonely; pain has brought me to the floor No one’s ever really knew me, but I never cared before Time has stripped away my numbness, sees my vulnerability I am finding strength in closeness, living less cynically CHORUS BRIDGE I’ve achieved an honest freedom. Peace and wisdom fill my mind Now that we can walk together No one ever left behind CHORUS x2 Copyright 2020 Vicki Morrison Goble

Little bits of light, sparkling in the night. We are guided by such tiny flames As they illuminate those treasured names We walk around the track And read the mem'ries there And after ev'ry lap We say a little prayer. Candles light the way. Candles light the way. Candles light the way. At the start, hearts full of sorrow Through the night, toward tomorrow We let our mem'ries flow Together, walk as one Our hearts begin to glow Before the night is done Candles light the way. We stand and lift our faces to the sky And feel the breeze as it goes drifting by We walk among the candles and we smile as they shine And let the mem'ries float across our minds. Candles light the way. Candles light the way. We are guided by such tiny flames As they illuminate those treasured names We let our mem'ries flow Together, walk as one Our hearts begin to glow Before the night is done Candles light the way. I'm never going to Scarborough Fair And I don't expect to grow parsley or thyme. But when I feel the spring breeze in the air I can't resist buying compost and lime. I tried to buy a cambric shirt A soft one in ecru was on my mind. But when I found one it fell in the dirt And just my luck 'twas upon suppertime I went to wash it in Grandmother's tub I scented the water with parsley and sage. But Granny's dog tipped it all out on the rug. I beat the dog with a stick in a rage. I spread the wet shirt out to dry on some thorns And then went to chop up rosemary and thyme But someone had eaten the peppercorns And left me with nothing till wintertime This song is all true; I would never tell lies The spices and herbs and the marking of time And lest you be thinking that I plagiarize I rush to assure you that each word is mine

Awakening 03:03
We lost our way in darkness never knowing we were blind Believing we held torches bright enough to lead mankind We thought we knew what glory was We prayed that we might know What path God had in mind for us We loved our Maker so And then we saw off to the East The first long rays of light Reaching up to chase away the darkness of the night Our hearts were filled with wonder as we watched the light with awe Then from the mighty voice of God we heard the sacred law The Holy One has come to earth the trumpet sounds the call We harken to the ancient song His love reclaims us all We lift our faces to the sound refreshing sweet command to fill the world with harmony Oh, now we understand A new wind sweeps the dark misleading blinders from our eyes Awakening from heedless dreams At last we realize The Holy One has come to earth we hear His trumpet's sounds call And harken to the ancient song As love reclaims us all The Holy One has come to earth His trumpet sounds the call We harken to the ancient song His love reclaims us all We harken to the ancient song His love reclaims us all.

Hear the gentle currents wafting through the trees Ev’rywhere you look it seems so lush and green Don’t waste time; enjoy the view before it fades away. Ancient secrets whispered in the rustling leaves Nature is preparing for the coming grief What seems well and growing now will all be gone someday. What is to become of this earth? What disaster will it take before we learn? If we fail this time, will we get another turn? What is to become of this earth? Acid rain from heaven slowly seeps inside Lust for power pushes nature’s suicide Has it been too long, is there still time to turn the tide? Oil spills, contamination world-wide Can we stop it all before our children’s children die? Will we find a light or fall into a deadly night? What is to become of this earth? What disaster will it take before we learn? If we fail this time, will we get another turn? What is to become of this earth? Can we meet the challenge? Can we fix the damage? Can we save the planet? Find a prime solution? What is to become of this earth? What disaster will it take before we learn? If we fail this time, will we get another turn? What is to become of this earth? If we fail this time, will we get another turn? What is to become of this earth? Copyright 2020 Vicki Morrison Goble

Rescue Me 02:45
When I'm drowning, lost at sea, reach out your hand and rescue me. When I'm falling from the sky, take my hand; we will learn to fly We will fly, we will fly, we will fly, we will fly If you reach out your hand and rescue me, we will fly, we will fly Oppressive clouds, I don't know where they're from But I can feel their weight as they obliterate the sun. Bonds of dust are holding me down. I try to call you, but I can't make a sound When I'm drowning, lost at sea, reach out your hand and rescue me. When I'm falling from the sky, take my hand; we will learn to fly We will fly, we will fly, we will fly, we will fly If you reach out your hand and rescue me, we will fly, we will fly You lifted me from the sea of despair When I needed someone strong, you were there I was rescued by the warmth of your love Made me believe it was more than enough When I'm drowning, lost at sea, reach out your hand and rescue me. When I'm falling from the sky, take my hand; we will learn to fly We will fly, we will fly, we will fly, we will fly If you reach out your hand and rescue me, we will fly, we will fly If you reach out your hand and rescue me, we will fly, we will fly Copyright 2020 Vicki Morrison Goble

I heard the news today. I don’t know what to say. I always thought I’d see you one more time. But that will never be, and it surprises me How often you’ve been wand’ring through my mind. I always thought I’d see you again. I really expected we would visit now and then It’s hard to believe our opportunities are gone. I always thought I’d see you one more time. My memories are old, yet, far from growing cold. Those happy times don’t seem so far away. You’re right in front of me, but just a fantasy, And I can’t spend my life in yesterday. I always thought I’d see you again. I really expected we would visit now and then It’s hard to believe our opportunities are gone. I always thought I’d see you one more time. One more time. I didn’t think there’d never be One more time. You know, it isn’t fair. I was so sure we would have a chance to share one last good-bye I always thought I’d see you one more time. I heard the news today. I don’t know what to say. I always thought I’d see you one more time. But that will never be, and it surprises me How often you’ve been wand’ring through my mind. One more time. I didn’t think there’d never be One more time. You know, it isn’t fair. I was so sure we would have a chance to share one last good-bye I always thought I’d see you one more time. Did you hear the news? The airlines are feeling a pinch. I've been told the crews are taking away another inch. What are they tryin' to do, I ask ya? Some of us need the space. They keep packin' in more 'n' more seats, but I need room for my legs. I need room for my legs! Oh, man! You know, I need room for my legs! Please stop pushin' those seats so close together; I need room for my legs! I just bought a new car; it'll go all day on one tank. But when I get behind the wheel, I discover the chassis shrank What are they tryin' to do, I ask ya? Some of us need the space. Sure, I get better MPG, but I need room for my legs. I need room for my legs! Oh, man! You know, I need room for my legs! Please don't make the cars any smaller, cuz I need room for my legs! I just went to a movie; It's one I really wanted to see They had moved the rows to fit more, and there wasn't any room for my knees. What are they tryin' to do, I ask ya? Some of us need the space. I don't like the knees pokin' in my back and I need room for my legs. I need room for my legs! Oh, man! You know, I need room for my legs! Please stop pushin' those rows together, cuz I need room for my legs! Please stop pushin' those rows together, cuz I need room for my legs!

about

An eclectic mix of original music, ranging from responding to personal loss and potential world disaster to novelty/comedy. Pre-order now. On March 26, the price goes up to $14.99 (plus shipping for physical CDs).

ABOUT THE MUSIC
These twelve original songs, eleven by the artist and one by a fellow songwriter, comprise Vicki's second solo album, and 4th album overall.

"Sissy Ain't a Bad Girl" is a thoughtful approach to expectations and treatment of women and how attitudes are taught from a very early age.

"The Good Days Never End", written by Jeff Robinson, is an optimistic, feel-good piece.

"Where Do You Go, My Romeo?" describes an unrequited love and is from the point of view of a potential stalker.

"My Blue Day" was born out of frustration with remote (and unreliable and SLOW) access to the internet.

"I Don't Mind if You Walk with Me" encourages people to be vulnerable, even though it may be scary.

"Candles Light the Way" was specifically written to accompany the Survivors' Walk portion of The American Cancer Society's signature fundraiser event--Relay For Life.

"I'm Never Going to Scarborough Fair" is basically a nonsense song inspired by, obviously, "Scarborough Fair".

"Awakening" is a spiritual, uplifting piece, celebrating our relationship with God.

"What Is to Become of This Earth?" addresses ecological challenges facing our planet and wonders if we will be able to solve them.

"Rescue Me", co-written with Kevin Malton, focuses on our dependence on one another.

"One More Time" was motivated by the passing of several friends in less than one year, people I fully expected to see at least "one more time". Don't put it off--call or visit an old friend today!

"I Need Room for My Legs", co-written by Susan Norlund Douglas, was inspired by a news story reporting the decision by an airline to move seats in their planes closer together so they could fit more in.

THE ARTIST SAYS:
I use music as a positive influence in my life and in the lives of others and as a means to encourage myself and others to be active participants in life, rather than only observers. It is never too late to try something new! I am passionate about spreading the word that it's a good idea to DO things. It's okay to watch professionals and experts, but there is value and benefit in doing, as well. It isn't necessary to be an expert, and it doesn't matter what people think. If you love singing, football, acting, baseball, painting, or any other activity, then, by all means, watch experts if that brings you joy. But do it yourself, as well!

And, if there's something you always wanted to try--some craft, sport, art, business--but you think you're too old? Try it anyway! Do you have the message yet? DO STUFF!
