about
I'm not much into writing love songs, whether unrequited or not, so when my songwriters' forum announced a love song challenge, I was less than excited. It became more interesting when I learned the full description: "Write a happy love song with a twist". The twist did it for me, so here is my entry for that challenge.
lyrics
CHORUS
Everybody wants to hold you, wants to squeeze you, Baby,
But you don't want anybody but me.
Everybody wants to hold you, wants to squeeze you, Baby,
But you don't want anybody but me.
I confess there are days I wouldn't mind sharing
But I insist it's not for lack of caring
'Cause I'm devoted to you, Baby, and I'm sure you know what I mean.
VERSE 1
I fell in love the day we met In moments I will not forget
'Cuz no one in the world could ever be like you, oh no.
And even when you're acting rude Or crying shamelessly for food
If you weren't in my life, I don't know what I'd do
VERSE 2
So quickly I saw subtle change My life became so rearranged
In ways I had declared that I would not allow, oh no.
I loved you still and yet I cried You pull my heart strings deep inside
And now I know I'll never wanna, never wanna put you down.
GUITAR SOLO

But you can't help it; you're only three. You're my baby, my little chickadee.

"Music in My Head" is the first song of John Bradley's I ever heard, and I loved it from day one. So much that I asked for permission to sing it myself. It's soulful sound really appeals to me. Vicki Morrison Goble
I'm not generally a fan of country style music, but I have a weakness for Vance's lovely, liquid guitar playing and McGill's clear and not-all-that country sounding voice. Vicki Morrison Goble
